BAALPHEGOR began with Alfred Berengena (drums), David Fernández (guitar), Jordi Massanes (guitar) and Jesús Díaz (voice) in Girona in 1996. A little bit later, Jordi Massanes left the band and Raimon Jaramillo replaced him on the bass, and David Sallarés entered as a new guitarist. Our first concert was in the festival "LA NIT MÉS FOSCA" with 1000 people and since then we realized several shows in Girona and Barcelona. Afterwards, Jesús Díaz left the band and Miguel Herrera joined us as the guttural throat. In 1998 José Hernández replaced Raimon Jaramillo on the bass.Two weeks after that change, we recorded our first Demo CD. However, David Sallarés stopped playing with us and BAALPHEGOR consolidated as a four members band. As two record labels were interested in us, BAALPHEGOR started their first self-produced and recorded full-length CD. Nevertheless, the first attemps failed because we was obtained a lower quality than in the demo, whereas the labels requested at least the same sound. In 2000, the band gave several shows with Regius as the new vocalist, but finally Miguel Herrera rejoined us in May 2001. Since that moment, BAALPHEGOR started doing some concerts out of Catalonia. We was played, for instance, with Yattering (Pol), Undertakers (Italy) and Cerebral Effusion (Basque Country) in Bergara. Moreover, we played in Malaga, Murcia, Barcelona, and other spanish cities, and with Vader (Pol), Cryptopsy (Can) and Dying Fetus (USA) in Madrid in September 2001, with Sacred Sin (Por), Prejudice (Bel) .... etc. After that, in november 2001 we re-started our full-lenght Cd recording in our own rehearsal room, with a limited resources, obtaining a very impressive result. At half of december 2001 BAALPHEGOR completes his formation with Marc Plana as a new guitarist to making one's debut on February 2002 at the Golden Gloves (BCN). Since this moment we started to play in a lot of gigs for all spanish geography (you can see it on tour dates section), until July that we played at Steels Warriors Fest. in Barroselas (Portugal). During this summer and autumn we have been sending a lot of promo-cds to labels, fanzines... getting a tons of good reviews, but in all these months we don't have received any serious contract from the labels and of course we have decided to self-edit our work. February 2003 Alfred had a car accident 4 days before our first "small" European tour for promote "The End Of Descent" CD with a Switzerland band called Censored. The European tour had some shows in (Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Euskadi, Catalonia). This accident became a large stop on the trajectory of BAALPHEGOR. Alfred had to do a hard rehabilitation for his leg… On September 2003 we start to rehearsal again and wrote new songs for the new album. Before the operation of Alfred's leg on 7th of November 2003 we played in Dynamo (Switzerland) with The Cranium(Ch), Cataract (Ch), Despise(Ch). The next weekend 15th Nov. we did a show on "La Mirona" (Catalonia) with Censored (Ch).
